Worship at Silver Spring UMC

An image of worship in our sanctuary, where four lay leaders have their hands extended in a sign of blessing toward the congregation.

Join us at 10 A.M. every Sunday for uplifting, inspiring, and intergenerational worship celebrations that celebrate the deep gifts of our liturgical tradition while embracing fresh and creative music and liturgy. You’ll find robes and blue jeans, bell choirs and bass guitars, and biblically-grounded preaching, all in a community committed to being and becoming a vital movement of God’s love for the people of Silver Spring, Montgomery County, and beyond!

At this time masks are required at all times when joining us for in-person worship unless someone is actively speaking at a microphone. Vaccination requirements are in effect for our staff, choir, and hospitality volunteers to provide additional safety for the youngest and most vulnerable among us.

Three Ways to Worship

In-Person

Other Information

Children

Children are welcome and encouraged to sit with their families throughout service, and craft packs that help them engage in learning, even as they play, are available as you enter our sanctuary. Limited childcare for infants through pre-K is available, and we’re excited to be launching a new Children’s Chapel program that will coincide with worship this Fall. Email our Directory of Children and Family Ministries, Marie Matthews, for more information.

Do I need to put something in the offering plate?

We encourage everyone to fill out an attendance card and put it in the offering plate because your presence in worship is a gift that you offer to God and to the gathered community. Most of our active members give financial gifts as well, but we do not expect visitors to contribute financially unless you are so moved.
