Hero Central VBS was a tremendous success!

In this year’s Hero Central, the VBS kids took an awesome adventure alongside some of their favorite Bible heroes and discovered the qualities that make us truly heroic in God.  The VBS kids discovered that they are also Heroes as they explored how to serve God and God’s mission for their lives. Most importantly, the VBS heroes learned that: Heroes have HEART!  Heroes have COURAGE!  Heroes have WISDOM!  Heroes have HOPE! Heroes have POWER!  They expanded on what they discovered by participating in a variety of activities which included:  memorable Bible-learning activities, singing and dancing to catchy songs, devouring yummy treats, testing Science-Fun activities, and making their own art projects. During our opening assemblies, to tie into our mission center, we had several guest speakers, Dr. Dan (Sherk) who is an emergency room doctor at Holy Cross Hospital, Mrs. Lisa Middleton, who is the Coordinator of our Manna Choice  Food Pantry at our Four Corners Campus, and Jake Joholske, a 7th grader and VBS youth assistant, who believes that readying is very important and that all children should have books to read. The VBS Heroes  responded to a call for action from our guest speakers.  350 books were collected and donated to Community of Hope, A Wider Circle, and one of the local high school’s library. Mark your calendars now for  next year’s VBS which will be held June 17–21, 2019.
