In this service, we honor the losses we have experienced this year and acknowledge the things that may make the joy of the Christmas season feel distant or dim. This is an opportunity for us to be in community with one another, to hold one another in prayer, and to bring the fullness of our complicated human experience into the season. We ache in waiting for the One who knows the depths of our pain and the summits of our joy, for our God who took on this skin and these heartbreaks of ours.
