Short-term classes and studies are one way to take the next step in your walk with Jesus Christ. They provide a chance to meet other people while learning about God and exploring new dimensions of the Christian faith and life.
We offer a variety of short-term classes during the year, ranging from an hour in an afternoon or evening to studies over several weeks. Here are some of our current and upcoming offerings:
The Gospel According to Mark (Sundays, 7 to 8:15 p.m.; 9 weeks)
Rev. Alex is leading a 9-week journey through the Gospel of Mark starting Sunday, September 12. Mark is both the first gospel to be written and the shortest. It’s a great introduction to the life and ministry of Jesus! If you would like to participate, you may want to pick up a copy of the Immersion Bible Studies guide to Mark, but it is not required. Click here to join the Zoom, or call +1 (301) 715-8592 and use meeting ID 823 0046 0304 and passcode 8900.
You can also view and download the class schedule.
Bodies, Books, and God (Mondays, 7-8 p.m.; 7 weeks)
Starting September 20, Rev. Katherine Brown will be leading a 7-week adaptation of her seminary course, “Bodies, Books, and God,” about the biblical stories of encountering God and how our modern understandings of the Bible as a text sometimes get in the way encountering God in materials, embodied ways. All are welcome to this short-term study within our normal Monday Night Study Group! Click here to join the Zoom, or call +1 (301) 715-8592 and use meeting ID 825 5433 3137 and passcode 8900.
