Short-term classes and studies are one way to take the next step in your walk with Jesus Christ. They provide a chance to meet other people while learning about God and exploring new dimensions of the Christian faith and life.
We offer a variety of short-term classes during the year, ranging from an hour in an afternoon or evening to studies over several weeks. Here are some of our current and upcoming offerings:
Bodies, Books, and God (Mondays, 7-8 p.m.; 7 weeks)
Starting September 20, Rev. Katherine Brown will be leading a 7-week adaptation of her seminary course, “Bodies, Books, and God,” about the biblical stories of encountering God and how our modern understandings of the Bible as a text sometimes get in the way encountering God in materials, embodied ways. All are welcome to this short-term study within our normal Monday Night Study Group! Click here to join the Zoom, or call +1 (301) 715-8592 and use meeting ID 825 5433 3137 and passcode 8900.
All the Good: A Wesleyan Way of Christmas (Sundays, 7-8 p.m.; 4 weeks)
Beginning on November 28, Rev. Alex will be leading a 4-week study on how the Wesleyan means of grace can deepen our experience of Advent and the Christmas season. During this time of preparing for the celebration of Christ’s birth, we can prepare ourselves for a more meaningful Christmastime. Click here to join the Zoom, or call +1 (301) 715-8592 and use meeting ID 898 6492 8203 and passcode 8900. You can order the participant book from Amazon or Cokesbury.
