Children

This space, especially designed for families to worship together, provides child-appropriate furniture and scripturally-based play resources that allow families to worship together in our Sanctuary. Worshipping together with our generationally-diverse congregation, children learn how to participate in worship that welcomes all their wiggles, squiggles, and shouts!

Each week, children in 2nd through 5th grade are invited to participate in their very own, children-led worship service during Children’s Chapel. Kids are dismissed after the Children’s Message, where they follow the order of worship allowing the children to participate in a Call to Worship, read scripture, learn about how and why we worship, hear a message, and sing with Ms. Polito, our children’s choir director.

The Nursery program provides a caring, safe, warm and comforting Christian environment for our youngest members (and visitors) from 8:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m in Room 129. The Nursery is staffed each week by two Nursery Supervisors.  One supervisor has a certificate in daycare management and is Montessori trained.

Our Sunday school class for toddlers (2-3 years old) is co-taught by a teaching team.  This class is offered during worship and uses Cokesbury’s Deep Blue curriculum which incorporates Bible stories, activities, crafts, videos and games into a full faith experience that invites children to explore the Bible in fun, age appropriate ways.

Children ages 4 through 1st grade are invited to this special Sunday School class every Sunday following the Children’s Message. Our curriculum is play-based, using art, games and more to engage the Scripture that we read and study in worship. Class is dismissed during the closing hymn and students will return to the Sanctuary to meet their families.
